Happy New Year!

One of my Traci Lynn business partners, Kanoee Reynolds, posted the following today:

"Happy New Year! It's an opportunity for a fresh start or a new beginning. Be reminded that time is precious and each day is a gift. It's time to re-evaluate where we stand so that we could focus on where we are going. Whether it is to get physically fit, go back to school, or just allow more time for you, you can begin again. Each year we are afforded an opportunity to renew our hope and live a more fulfilled life.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 says, And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming it can hardly wait! And it doesn't lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time. This amplified version of this verse reminds us to write the vision boldly and make it plain. Your vision has to be big and bold so that it is always before you and etched in your spirit. This verse also reminds us to wait because even though you may not readily see it, it is on its way. Empowering Women, as we begin a new year, let's keep focused, let's encourage each other and believe that our dreams and desires ache for the coming and can hardly wait! It's time to begin, dream, believe, and see again!
2013 the year of the OVERFLOW..... The year of the YES!!!"

I love what she said here because it is so true. A new year forwards a person to start over if they wish or continue on a wonderful path with new dreams, new goals and new aspirations. I know I do. I am excited about the upcoming year because I have completely changed my mindset from the previous year. Its great. I am no longer with someone who I felt brought me down and did not support me like they claimed to. I told him toward the end, "I started the year with you and if I have to I'll end the year without you." With God on my side to help me get through it, that is what happened. I stop making resolutions a long time ago and began making goals of what I was GOING to do. Like my Kanoee said, 2013 is the year of the YES!!! I have personal goals and I have business goals. I intend to meet them. I realized that the only support that I need is from my Lord and Savior. I knew this all along and while I've struggled with my faith, I know that things happen for a reason and He has always shown me what that reason was. In 2012 I worked to build a stronger relationship with Him. I pray not just to ask for things but to simply say Thank You! Thank you for another day, thank you for my daughter, thank you for life and thank you for my family (even if we don't always get along). There is no doubt that every one is different but it works for me. My vision is clear, my goals are set. I have a life to live, a child to take care of and two businesses to run that I absolutely love. I eventually will get the wedding/event planning business I want. Things will come together for me because I claim it and I receive it. I want it so bad I can taste it. I see it and all I have to do is reach out and grab it. 2012 has been a pretty good year for me because I released all of the negativity that tried to come into my life. 2013 will just be a better year. I've grown over the years and over time dealt away with anything and anyone who did not mean any good in my life. So this is nothing new. Business wise I plan on making this a great year because I want to take both my businesses far for me and anyone who comes under me.

What I am trying to say is, take what you learned in not only 2012 but previous years and make positive changes for 2013. Don't let anything or anyone bring you down. For every negative, turn it into a positive. For every positive, find a way to build upon it if possible. If you speak positive things then positive things will happen. I'm going to have a wonderful year and I hope you do also. I know what I want and I know what I have to do in order to achieve it. Nothing comes for free. It requires hard and dedicated work and when I want something, I don't mind working hard, especially when I'm dedicated to something. I wish the same to everyone reading this. I also wish the same for your friends and family. I want to say Happy New Year to everyone and be safe out there tonight. I will see you in 2013!!

Happy Holidays!!

As the Christmas holiday approaches and the New Year is around the corner, I want to take this time to say Happy Holidays to everyone! Despite your religion or how you celebrate the holidays, I wish you and your family a wonderful and blessed holiday season

Take the time to remember those who were lost this year. Cherish your family and love every moment with them. In light of recent events, you never know when this life will end. If you haven't in a while, tell your family that you love them. Call that family member or friend that you got into a disagreement with and patch things up (of course if its worth it). The holidays are about family and giving. Give of yourself and it will be given unto you. Love is the key word this season.

Love is defined as: 1) a deep, tender feeling of affection toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness, 2) A feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person, 3) An intense emotional attachment, and 4) The love of God or Christ for mankind, devotedness, devotion.

One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible come from 1 Corinthians 13:4-5, 7 and it states: "Love is patient and kind. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance." Chapter 13:13 states: "Now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Love one another this season. Make a resolution to love in 2013. Love God first and foremost. He will bring many blessings to your life. Even when you think things are at their worse, remember two things; 1) there is someone out there in a worse situation than you are and 2) God never puts more on you than you can handle. He tests you, but the question always remains, "What are you going to do to pass His test?" Faith and prayer are important. You cannot pray and worry. What is the purpose of praying and opening your heart to God if you are still going to worry and stress over your situation? Things will get better in the end. What it all boils down to is that when no one else does, God has your back. He is there for you. When times are tough, Hes there. When times get better, He does not leave you, He is still there.

Christmas is more than presents, Jesus is the real reason for the season. Give from the heart, not expecting anything in return. When you give from within, God will reward you. When you see that homeless person on the street, don't judge. Give him a bite to eat or even a dollar to help him out. The Salvation Army is out there ringing those bells like they do every year. Drop your spare change into that red bucket. Every time we go past one, my daughter always ask me if she can put some money in there. If I have the extra change I will give it to her so that she can donate it. It makes me feel good that she wants to do that. In return she and I will be blessed in one way or another. I give when I can because I want to and that is just the type of person I am.

So here is what I am asking of you this holiday season. 1) Love one another and those around you. Smile and be happy even if things aren't great. You are alive and that is something to smile about. 2) Give. 3) Have faith and pray. Give God just a minute out of your day. Whether you read a Bible verse, say a short prayer or something. Just give Him a few minutes of your time. You will reap the blessing because you are showing him that you want His love and you appreciate all He does for you.

I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa and a Happy Holidays! No matter your religion or what you celebrate, I love you and have a blessed one from my family to yours!!!
